About H.O.M.I.E.S Inc.

     H.O.M.I.E.S Inc. is designed to provide Black K-12 students with the opportunity to receive mentorship and tutoring from experienced college & graduate students who have experienced enduring academia from the focused lens of Black professionals. The organization serves to give these students life guidance through a shared perspective, college advice from both

first-generation and legacy college students, and on-demand tutoring to give mentees the full support that they need in their academic journeys. This organization is designed and led by Black graduate students and professionals and is intended to provide resources and shared perspectives with other Black K-12 students. H.O.M.I.E.S Inc. will provide mentees with a particular emphasis on the importance of STEM education and will allow them the opportunity to build trust with mentors who genuinely have their mentees' best interests at heart. H.O.M.I.E.S Inc. is currently running chapters out of Los Angeles & Philadelphia, and are continuing to partner Black professionals with Black K-12 students in order to forge mutually beneficial networks within our community. The specific objectives and purpose of this organization are to:

- To make visits centered around advising and supporting Black students at partnered K-12 schools

- To provide life guidance and support to Black students in an attempt at creating a sense of community within the partnered school

- For mentors to stay in constant communication with their assigned mentees and remain flexible to the needs of their assigned mentees

     Application for membership shall be open to any Black (Predominant culture derived from African origins) that supports the purpose of H.O.M.I.E.S Inc. as an organization.

Membership is granted after completion and receipt of a membership application and completion of a scheduled interview.
